Southmoreland next to take on Jeannette, Pryor
Big news -- No. 1 Jeannette won't be on TV this weekend. So if you want to see Terrelle Pryor and his Jeannette teammates, you'll have to buy a ticket.
No one has been able to slow Jeannette this season. The Jayhawks have outscored their opponents, 165-12, and they have offensive weapons including running backs Mike Matt, Jordan Hall and James Derry. Running back Jerry Harris missed last week's game against Yough.
Nose tackle Montel Walker had two sacks and returned an interception for a touchdown last week against Yough. Hall ran the ball five times and scored three touchdowns.
Southmoreland has bounced back nicely after losing its opener to Avonworth. The Scotties own impressive wins against McGuffey and Waynesburg.
The offensive has been led by running backs Erik Frund and Jesse McKnight and quarterback Aaron Stasko. Southmoreland has outscored its opponents, 77-14, the past two weeks.
This starts a tough run for the Scotties, who will meet East Allegheny and Greensburg Central Catholic after playing host to Jeannette. If the Scotties hope to make a playoff run this season, it's key for them to win at least one of the next three games.
